报告题目:Artifact-Centric Approach to Business Process Modeling 报告地点:郁文楼A102会议室 报告时间: 主 讲 人:Jianwen Su 报告摘要: A business process (BP) is an assembly of services or work activities (automated or by human performers) for a business goal (e.g., admitting a student). BP management (BPM) refers to management of a collection of inter-related BPs. A workflow is a concrete representation of a BP understood by a software system. Workflow systems aim at helping BPM in many aspects: managing BP execution, managing data involved in executing BPs, monitoring, and more. In most workflow systems, important information concerning execution states and data is managed in an ad hoc manner and often embedded deeply in the execution engines. The semantics of BPs needed for runtime management is scattered across BP models, execution engines, and data stores of workflow systems. The inability to capture such semantics in BP models is the root cause for many BPM challenges. The artifact-centric BP modeling approach is promising in fundamentally changing the way BPs are viewed and modeled through tightly integrating all kinds of BP data (for business logic, execution states, resources usage, and BP correlations) into BP models. This is a sharp contrast to traditional control-flow focused BP modeling practices. In this talk, we will discuss key concepts and techniques in artifact-centric models, and discuss several key technical research problems towards developing new workflow management systems. 个人简介: Jianwen Su is Professor of Computer Science at the |
