报告摘要： Large-scale visual search plays an important role in today’s multimedia and computer vision research. It has wide applications in our daily life. This talk is to introduce history, development, challenging research problems of large-scale visual search and recent innovative research work proposed and performed by the presenter.

报告人简介： Dr. Yijuan Lu is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science at Texas State University. Her current research focuses on multimedia information retrieval, computer vision, and machine learning.  She has published extensively and has served on program and organizing committees for many international conferences. Her publications appear in leading publication venues in multimedia research such as ACM MM, IEEE CVPR, IJCV, TIP, TMM, TKDD, TOMCCAP etc.  She received the Best Paper award from ICME 2013 and the Best Paper award from ICIMCS 2012. Her team was the First Place Winner in the 3D sketch-based 3D shape retrieval competition at Eurographics 2016; the First Place Winner in the large-scale sketch-based 3D retrieval competition and the First Place Winner in the range scans competition at EuroGraphics 2013.  She received 2015 Presidential Distinction Award for Excellence in Service, 2014 College Achievement Award, and was 2012 Dean Nominee for Texas State Presidential Award for Excellence in Scholarly/Creative Activities.  Dr. Lu has obtained many competitive external grants from NSF, US Army, Texas Department of Transportation, and US Department of Defense as PI, Co-PI or Senior Personnel. She has filed four patents to date.
