报告摘要：

Recommender systems have become an important research area. Plenty of algorithms have been proposed to solve recommendation problems in various scenarios. For example, the recent rapid developments of online social networking services (e.g., Facebook and Twitter) motivate the emergences of social recommender systems, which exploit users’ online social friendships for recommendation. Moreover, the popularity of location-based services (e.g., Yelp and DianPing) also requires the developments of location-based recommender systems. In this talk, Dr. Liu will present his recent work in these two research areas.

个人简介

Dr. Liu Yong is a Manager, Data Scientist with Link Analytics Center, NTUC Link Pte. Ltd. since November 2017. Prior to that, he was a research scientist in Data Analytics Department, Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), A*STAR from November 2015 to October 2017. He received Ph.D. from the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University in 2016, and B.S. from the Department of Electronic Science and Technology at University of Science and Technology of China in 2008. His research areas include recommender systems, social media mining, and bioinformatics. His research papers appear in leading international conferences and journals including IJCAI, CIKM, SDM, and PLOS Computational Biology. He has been invited as a PC member of major conferences such as CIKM, IJCAI, KDD, and reviewer for IEEE/ACM transactions. He is a member of ACM.
