报告摘要：

In this invited talk, Professor Jianxin Li will first present the overall state of the art about large language models (LLMs), particularly the emerging needs of data science for generative AI models, including the significant applications and the research gaps. To show the research impact, he will briefly introduce two recent studies of cross-modal data alignment and data fusion for supporting image-text retrieval and graph-text natural language-based question and answering. Finally, he will discuss the research problems by demonstrating one of their recent innovative platforms, i.e., data engineering for AI (DE4AI) to explain the benefits of such technologies. This talk is suitable to all attendees in the fields of data science, machine learning, deep learning and AI applications.

报告人简介：

Dr. Jianxin Li is the full professor of information systems, and deputy director of Business Intelligence Cluster at School of Business and Law, Edith Cowan University. Prior to joining ECU, Jianxin has worked as academic positions in Swinburne, RMIT, UWA and Deakin Universities. His research is specialised in data science, AI and knowledge information systems. He has published about 200 peer-reviewed and high-quality research articles in top international conferences and journals, e.g., IEEE ICDE, IEEE TKDE. There are 13 Highly Cited Papers or Hot Papers since 2020. He was awarded as World Top 2% scientists since 2022 due to research impact and high citation. He has obtained more than 10 external grants with about 1.7 million funding, including ARC DP, ARC LP. Currently, he serves as the Editor-in-Chief in Array, Associate Editors in Information Systems, Knowledge-based Systems, and World Wide Web Journal.
