报告题目:High Dimensionality Modeling and Diagnosis: Regional English Visualization and Wireless Sensor Network

报告摘要:

High dimensionality data and manifold learning analysis are receiving considerable attention, because they are able to preserve high dimensional data characteristics and facilitate extracting the most useful information for different purposes. They are becoming increasingly important when more emerging recent applications are related to high-dimensional attributes, such as gene expressions, hand writing and face recognition. In this talk we will first briefly introduce the well-known ISOMAP and LLP algorithms. The major part of the talk focuses on two recent studies using high dimensionality modeling. The first one is Regional English discriminative analysis, in which computational models are studied and developed for classifying English written by Chinese, and other native speakers. The results of this work are promising and interesting in a way that, hopefully, they can throw light to Asian students. The second study is about modeling wireless sensor network fault diagnosis. As our objective is aimed at determining faulty sensor nodes, different wireless sensor network operation mechanisms are modeled by a high dimensional vector, which is subsequently used for faulty sensor node(s) discriminative analysis.
