Whatever a new image analysis algorithm or a new video compression method is, it is necessary to use a quality assessment method to validate this new technique and "convince" the end-users. Meanwhile, the saliency information can benefit a wide range of applications related to the main topics of our team, e.g. image quality assessment, image segmentation, image compression, image rendering, object detection and recognition, visual tracking, etc.
Title2: AFFINITY (Assessing and quantifying the presence of the affinity on people with ASD) Abstract : Most of people suffering from Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) have a specific and personal interest in a particular thing, such as a toy, a subject (e.g. traffic, plane…), an interest in cartoons or music to name a very few of them. Affinity therapy exactly relies on such particular interest from which a sustained connection between the autism’s world and an exterior world can be made. This affinity, that used to be denounced as being an “obsession” or some “momentary fad”, turns out to be the main support for a treatment as an opening to the word, to socialization and to learnings. In this presentation, some findings on the influence of affinity on the behaviors of ASD people from our project AFFINITY (in which computer scientists and psychologists worked together) will be reported and discussed. 报告人简介: Lu ZHANG is an associate professor (in french, “ma?tre de conférences”) in the ? Industrial computer science and electronics ? department of the ? National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA) of Rennes ? in France. She received the B.S degree from Southeast University and the M.S. degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University in China in 2004 and 2007, respectively. During her master studies, she worked on video coding and image processing. Then she participated in the Engineering Leadership Program (ELP) of National Instruments (NI) at Shanghai. From October 2009 to November 2012, she was a PhD student of the LISA and CNRS IRCCyN labs in France, working on the model observers for the medical image quality assessment. Then she participated in an European Space Agency (ESA) project and worked on the quality of experience (QoE) in telemedicine, before she joined INSA Rennes and the VAADER research team of the IETR lab in September 2013. Since then, she has co-supervised seven PhD students who have already got their doctoral degrees, one postdoc and is now co-supervising seven PhD students. She is a board member of the international VQEG (Video Quality Experts Group) and co-chair two working groups of VQEG. She is designated as the “Artificial Intelligence (AI) referee” of the IETR laboratory since 2019.She is elected as a Multimedia Signal Processing Technical Committee (MMSP TC) Member and EURASIP TAC (Technical Area Committees) VIP (Visual Information Processing) Member for the period of 2022-2024. |
